Firstsite Visual Arts Gallery approached us to produce a promotional film for Background Bob, an exhibition featuring a vibrant collection of artworks created by a wide range of artists on pieces of cardboard originally painted by Noah, known as “Background Bob”.

The goal was to tell the powerful and uplifting backstory of the exhibition and its young creator, while also capturing the creativity, scale, and emotional impact of the artworks on display. To authentically convey the heart of the project, we conducted interviews with Noah’s parents and several contributing artists, gathering heartfelt insights that revealed the passion, goodwill, and community behind the exhibition.

These interviews were shaped into a compelling narrative during the editing process, sharing Noah’s journey into the art world in a clear and engaging way. To bring life to the exhibition itself, we filmed the installation process, introducing motion into the otherwise static gallery space. The final display was captured with close-up shots, subtle camera movements, and slow-motion to highlight the intricate details and personality of each piece.

The result is a touching and visually rich film that celebrates a unique collaboration, the spirit of creativity, and the power of community through art.
