Visit Colchester

Visit Colchester commissioned a promotional video to highlight everything the city has to offer—from its rich heritage and historic architecture to beautiful parks, open-air theatre, live music, and vibrant food and drink festivals. The goal was to create a dynamic, inclusive film that would appeal to tourists, locals, and businesses alike.

Aura Films has worked closely with Visit Colchester over several years, building a substantial archive of footage from events, festivals, and city life. For this project, we combined that archive with newly captured material, including sweeping drone shots to showcase the scale and beauty of Colchester’s landscape and architecture.

The two key creative elements of this video were selecting a music track that would inspire and energise viewers, and crafting an edit that seamlessly brings together the city’s diverse attractions. We collaborated with Visit Colchester to review music options and refine the edit through multiple rounds of feedback, ensuring the final film resonated with all stakeholders.

The result is an engaging, visually rich video that celebrates the energy, culture, and charm of Colchester—designed to inspire visitors and locals alike to explore all that the city has to offer.
