Welcome Back Colchester

Colchester Borough Council commissioned a commercial to support the safe reopening of the city’s high street, aiming to reassure the public and encourage both locals and visitors to return — helping to revitalise city centre businesses.

Aura Films created a dynamic, fast-paced advert that combined informative messaging with engaging visuals. The film blended educational content with creative storytelling, showcasing key landmarks and the vibrant atmosphere of the high street while highlighting the safety measures in place to protect shoppers of all ages.

Working within a tight brief, Aura Films collaborated closely with ClearCast to ensure the final advert adhered to all relevant advertising standards and public safety criteria. A major focus of the project was location management, as filming across various busy public spaces posed logistical challenges. These were addressed through careful pre-production planning, enabling the team to capture all necessary footage smoothly and efficiently.

The result was an upbeat, reassuring advert that effectively balanced public health messaging with a celebration of Colchester’s thriving high street.
